Di-Hydro Team at Hydropower Day 2026
Last week marked a crucial moment for the Di-Hydro project. As our three-year journey approaches its conclusion at the end of September 2026, the Di-Hydro Team gathered in Brussels to share our findings, refine our final outputs, and share our insights on to the wider European energy community.
Taking the Stage at the 4th Brussels Hydropower Day
On September 8th, we had the opportunity of co-hosting our Joint Final Conference alongside our sister project, iAMP-Hydro. The joint session focused on presenting our final achievements in digital twins, smart sensors, and inflow forecasting. The 4th Brussels Hydropower Day, an event organised by ETIP Hydropower, hosted the joint Final Conference.
While the shift toward smart energy systems is an ongoing industry-wide effort, the discussions at the 4th Hydropower Day confirmed that Di-Hydro’s solutions are instrumental in driving forward the concept of digital hydropower. In fact, our three years of research and pilot activities provided interesting insights for industry leaders, plant operators, and policymakers alike. The Di-Hydro research highlighted the potential that digital technology can unlock for hydropower.
The 7th and Final Plenary Meeting
Afterwards, project activities continued further after the 4th Hydropower Day. In fact, on September 9th, the Team held its 7th and final Project Plenary meeting. Instead of a standard review, the meeting focused on the final polish to the project results. Our consortium partners collaborated to review the work completed, finalise our last deliverables, and ensure that our research outputs are ready for real-world integration as we wrap up our activities.
Explore Our Findings: The Di-Hydro Innovation Handbook
All the insights, data, and technical advancements have been carefully distilled into one comprehensive resource. The Team announces the official release of the Di-Hydro Innovation Handbook. The DH Handbook was presented first during the 4th Hydropower Day, and it is now available on the project website for consultation.
This document condenses Di-Hydro’s three years of work into practical guidance, showcasing our core contributions to the digitalisation of hydropower, from life cycle cost analyses to sensor deployments.
