Last October, the Di-Hydro team was busy in bringing our concepts and research into Enlit Europe, one of the largest events in EU for decarbonised and digitalised society.

Enlit Europe: A Global Forum for the Energy Transition

Enlit Europe stands as a leading event on the energy transition, fostering dialogue, innovation, and collaboration across the energy sector. This year, from October 22-24, the event was held in Milan, Italy, attracting over 15,000 attendees and featuring more than 700 exhibitors and 500 expert speakers.

Participants had the opportunity to engage with high-level summit sessions, network with industry leaders, and explore various thematic zones, including the EU Projects Zone, where pioneering projects could share their progress and insights. Enlit’s mission is to empower the global energy transition by providing a year-round platform for connection and knowledge exchange.

Di-Hydro’s Role and Activities at Enlit Europe 2024

The Di-Hydro project, dedicated to advancing digital water-hydropower management, proudly took part in Enlit Europe within the EU Project Zone. This unique space gathered EU-funded projects, creating an environment for showcasing ground-breaking initiatives.

Di-Hydro’s coordinator, Alkiviadis Tromaras from CERTH, participated in the “New Projects in the Spotlight” session, presenting the project’s objectives, ongoing work, and progress. Di-Hydro’s presence at Enlit Europe enabled the project to connect with other innovative projects, including its sister project, D-HYDROFLEX, and to engage in discussions around digitalisation, decarbonisation, and energy democratisation — key areas of focus for the project.

Di-Hydro 3rd Plenary Meeting in Milan

Coinciding with Enlit Europe, Di-Hydro held its 3rd Plenary Meeting, hosted by project partner A2A in Milan. The meeting provided an essential forum for project partners to review the project’s milestones, share updates, and set the course for upcoming validation activities. With partners from Greece, Italy, and Serbia, Di-Hydro is progressing towards validation at its three key Use Case sites, and the team discussed strategies to maximise the impact of the forthcoming phase. This collaborative gathering was an important step forward as Di-Hydro moves closer to real-world testing and results.
